You can add images, video, and PDF documents to your LinkedIn posts in Heyoo. This article covers the supported formats, size limits, LinkedIn's own rules, and what to do when an upload fails.
Images: JPEG, PNG, and GIF.
Video: MP4, MOV (QuickTime), M4V, WebM, and Ogg. MP4 is the most reliable choice.
Documents: PDF.
Files up to 512 MB can be uploaded for LinkedIn posting. Larger files are rejected with the message "Files larger than 512 MB cannot be uploaded for LinkedIn posting." If your video is bigger, compress or trim it before uploading.
You can add multiple images to a single post.
You can add only one video, or one document, per post.
You can't mix media types in the same post (for example a video and an image together).
"Failed to initialize video upload": usually a temporary hiccup, especially with larger files. Wait a moment and try again on a stable connection. If it persists, re-export the video as MP4.
"LinkedIn does not support this image format. Please upload a JPEG, PNG, or GIF instead." Convert the image to one of those formats (HEIC and WebP images, for example, are not accepted by LinkedIn).
"Files larger than 512 MB cannot be uploaded…" Reduce the file size and re-upload.
Messages about mixing media types or adding more than one video/document: adjust the post so it follows LinkedIn's rules above.
Tip: large videos upload in parts and can take a little while. Keep the tab open until the upload completes, and avoid switching networks mid-upload.
These same formats, limits, and rules apply to posts created in the Thought Leader Hub (Create Post).
